Day 1 - we will pick you up from your accommodation in Chiang Mai and head out of the city to our cycle drop off point in the country surrounding Chiang Mai. We will cycle our way through rural villages, small fruit farms, rice paddies and waterways. Depending on the season you may even get the chance to stop off and help with planting and harvesting! After 2 hours of cycling you we will stop for a well earned lunch. Then we will head by bike to a local waterfall where you can chill out before driving on up to your village stay accommodation overlooking the Thai rural village of Huay Pong.
Day 2 - Arise early and watch the early mists evaporate over the valley while we take our breakfast at the bungalow accommodation. We will then head down to the valley and the paddy fields to learn about how Thai agriculture has traditionally been done for centuries with buffalos. Its a hands on experience.! After a morning in the field we eat lunch and then trek up to a waterfall and a local working Karen Village. We overnight here and get a chance to learn about this ethnic minority's way of life and home stay as guests in their village.
Day 3 - The village roosters will ensure you are up and awake at an early hour to take breakfast in the village. After breakfast we will visit the local village school where you can see local children being taught and let them have the chance of practicing their English language skills with you - feel free to get involved here! Heading back to the bungalow will will grab some lunch then get a chance to chill out and kick back in the hammock and enjoy the views once more before we head up river to the bamboo rafting start point. We will enjoy a leisurely 1 hour trip down river before we jump back in the transport for the 1 hour drive back to Chiang Mai. |
