 TRIP OVERVIEW
Immerse yourself in unspoilt beauty and natural surroundings with a two day one night trekking and biking experience in the Chiang Dao area. Over two days we will head off the beaten path and into the mountains. We will spend the night high up in the hills in a Shan village staying at Tree House Village. As well as trekking some of northern Thailand's most pristine Jungle we will also spend time biking the small roads and tracks in the Ping River valley.
Day 1 - Early start! We will drive about 1 hour to a local market to stock up and then on to our Chiang Dao drop off point. Here we will commence the mornings trek in the Jungle. We will start with a relatively short trek to a waterfall where you can take a dip in the cool waters. The days trekking will continue with rest stops and a break for lunch to our final destination for the day, Mae Mae Shan Village and your accommodation for the night, Tree House Village. You can spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the views and chilling on the lofty veranda and enjoy the views of the thick forested valley below. Dinner will be prepared by the local villages.
Overnight - Tree House Village
Day 2 - After breakfast at Tree House Village we will pay a visit to Mae Mae Village School this small busy school teaches kiddies from a number of ethnic groups and villages in the area. Most children have to board at the school as their villages are simply to far away to make the daily commute. After the school visit we will commence the mornings trek, the trekking will continue downwards from the village following a small stream that flows down from the mountains, trekking will be around 2 hours to our pick up point where we will travel by pick up to our lunch stop. After lunch you will start biking our bike route will follow a relatively flat route near the Ping River. The countryside here is made up mostly of farm communities and small villages and is the perfect way to experience this beautiful part of northern Thailand. On route we will stop to visit Banden Temple. At he end of the day you will board the transport for the drive back to Chiang Mai.
