Day 1- The day will begin when you are picked up from your hotel and we will drive about one hour north towards Chiang Dao. As Thailand's third highest mountain (Doi Chiang Dao) comes into sight we will turn off the highway and into the foothills this is where the trek will begin. From here you will make your way by foot through the jungle, trekking time will be approximately 2.5 hours. The jungle here is pristine and very rarely trekked. You will trek up to Mae Mae Shan village situated in the mountains and we will stop for a well earned lunch break, the lunch will be prepared for you by the local Shan villages. After lunch we will make a visit to the local hill tribe school where children are taught from a diverse range of ethnic groups which reside ion the hills in this area. We will depart Mae Mae by pick up and make the short drive to our cycle starting point. The rest of the afternoon will be spent biking the rural flood plain of the Ping River, part of the route will be on dirt track and some on quiet paved roads we will bike through small villages and rice paddies and along irrigation canals, on most days you will see local farmers working their rice paddies and fruit orchards. Our final destination of the day will be Ban Den Temple where we will board the vehicle for the drive back to Chiang Mai.
